The end of the school year is quickly approaching and I’ve been trying to come up with inexpensive teacher’s gifts to show my children’s teachers how much we appreciate all of their hard work. When I think about teachers, I think about how much energy they must need to get through the day! Energizing sugar scrubs might be a nice way to start their day. They’re super easy to make with just 3 ingredients:
- 1 1/2 Cups Sugar (white or brown)
- 1/2 Cup Coconut Oil (I like Radha Beauty Fractionated Coconut Oil)
- 5-6 drops lemon essential oil (peppermint would also make a great energizing scrub)
I wasn’t kidding when I said this is super easy to make. Just mix the ingredients together until throughly combined. It’s simplicity makes it a good project for kids to help with! Let them help measure, pour and stir. They’ll have so much fun making and giving a gift for their teacher!
I bought chalkboard tags and a chalkboard marker to make the tag. It would be really cute with kids handwriting and just the word “Energize”
I’m all about balance so if we are giving teachers something to energize, then a sugar scrub for relaxing at the end of a long day is a must. Lavender is very calming and is excellent in sugar scrubs! Use the same recipe as above, just use Lavender Essential Oil instead of Lemon. On this one I used a chalkboard sticker and some ribbon. Again, this would be really cute if a child wrote the word “RELAX” on the tag.
I used Radha Beauty 100% Fractionated Coconut Oil in these scrubs. Coconut oil is my favorite type of oil to use with my essential oils because it is excellent for sensitive skin, won’t clog pores and it’s odorless so it won’t interfere with the scent of the other oils. Coconut oil is non-greasy and non staining and has natural antioxidant and disinfecting properties that make it a great choice for making beauty products. Since it’s odorless and colorless, it’s extremely versatile! I use it to dilute my essential oils and to make my own blends. It’s awesome for massage too! It has a really long shelf life and can be used to help prevent other oils from going rancid. This brand also offers a LIFETIME hassle-free money back guarantee so there’s no risk trying it! I’m sure you’ll love it though….
A 16 oz bottle of Radha Beauty Coconut Oil is only $13.89 right now on Amazon. That is a great price and shipping is free on qualifying orders of $35 or more!
