Nearly every mother can agree, sometimes you think you are going crazy. “Going crazy” days are often caused by clutter, lack of space and a frustration about too few minutes and too much to do. Growing Up Organized: A Mom-To-Mom Guide (Amazon.com, $14) is a new solution

to an age-old problem. Written by a mother of three, author Lea Schneider based it on her years of parenting a busy family and her experiences as a professional organizer.
“The answer is to either keep going crazy or get organized. Going crazy is O.K. for a day or two but not so great for a couple of decades of parenting. The solution is to teach our kids to be organized,” said Schneider, who owns Organize Right Now. Her advice has appeared in Women’s Day, Natural Health, and Better Homes and Gardens Kids’ Rooms magazines.
“Moms want advice on where to start. They wonder if they should start with bedroom chaos, toy clutter, homework struggles or getting out the door on time in the morning. This how-to book had tons of tips and its worksheets help you plan a successful organizing project.”
Besides creating a lot of daily stress, disorganization certainly affects a family’s finances. Just consider all the things lost, broken, replaced or outgrown before being worn, Schneider points out. Teaching your kids to be organized and responsible for their space, their belongings and their time is a lesson they will carry with them all their life.
