Clementine Art was founded in 2008 by Diana Mercer, a former teacher with over 20 years of experience in education and child development. Her goal was to create products that were safe for children and the environment, products that allow children to express themselves, use their imagination and engage them in them in the creative process. The full line of Clementine Art products include:
- Modeling Dough- made with all natural ingredients. Colored with spinach, carmine and turmeric
- Paint- colored with earth-based mineral pigments.
- Markers- colored with vegetable and mineral pigments
- Glue- contains plant based adhesives. Strong but reversible with water
- Soy Crayons- made with soy wax instead of petroleum based parrafins. Colored with earth based mineral pigments
- Soy Rock Crayons- developed to support small motor development. Soft, creamy consistency
Clementine Art products never contain:
- petroleum products
- animal adhesives
- artificial preservatives
- synthetic colors or scents
All products are certified non-toxic.
Choosing natural products does not mean sacrificing quality. Clementine Art supplies are fresh and vibrant. Paints won’t flake or crack. Dough is long lasting and crumble-free and glue is strong, dries clear and is suitable for paper fabric and wood yet it’s washable.
We were sent some complimentary soy crayons for this review. I was surprised at how vivid the colors were- beautiful! The crayons are shaped to help little hands grasp them easily. They aren’t wrapped in paper like most crayons. I’m not sure what the point of that is anyways. As a child I always peeled off the wrappers so I like that these ones come “naked”. I also liked the consistency of these crayons- they mark without much pressure which is great for beginners.
