“Install a rain barrel beneath your downspouts to help reduce storm water runoff and conserve water. The water you collect in your rain barrel is also a good backup source during times of drought.
You can purchase a small rain barrel at most home improvement stores for as little as $50, or find instructions online to make your own. Be sure to choose a model with a secure lid to prevent children and animals from falling in and install a screened cover to keep mosquitoes from breeding in your rain barrel.”
