The Leaves and debris that collect in our gutters mix with the rainwater and get washed down the sewer drain. Once the yard debris gets into the lakes and rivers, it creates algae, which decreases the oxygen in the water and kills marine life. After you’ve cleaned your gutters, add the yard debris to your compost pile or call your waste-management company to find out how to dispose of yard waste.
