I know most of the country is already out on summer vacation. We had some snow days to make up so we still have a week left of school. It’s time for me to start stocking up on snacks for the endless “Mom, I’m hungry! Can I have a snack?” inquiries. With three kids in the house I’ve got to keep my pantry loaded with healthy snacks, preferably ones we can grab and go.
Softball, baseball and soccer season are all in session so many weeknights will be spent and practices and most weekends will be spent at tournaments. For these we typically pack lunches and snacks to stayed fueled and ready to play. Check out some of our new favorites made with all natural ingredients:
Wholly Rollies — if you love peanut butter you’ll love Crazy Richards products. Wholly Rollies are bite sized snacks made with just 5 or 6 ingredients. They come in 2 delicious flavors: Cinnamon Oatmeal and PB & Cacao. I honestly cannot pick a favorite. They are both really good. Each bite sized ball contains 3-4 grams of protein making them a great snack option for my little athletes. Peanut butter, oat and dates are the main ingredients in both flavors of Wholly Rollies. Other ingredients may include cacao nibs, unsweetened toasted coconut, golden raisins, flax and organic cinnamon. I love that these come in a zip lock pouch so they stay fresh and I can toss them in a tote bag for on-the-go snacking.
Crazy Richard’s is known for their nut butter without the clutter. It’s made with 100% high quality nuts and nothing else. Most peanut butters are made with oil, sugar and salt but not Crazy Richard’s. Choose from Creamy or Crunchy Peanut Butter, Almond Butter and Cashew Butter. Peanut butter is a great source of niacin, antioxidants, resveratrol and manganese. Crazy Richard’s doesn’t add any extra oils to their peanut butter because they use the natural oils found in nuts to ensure consumers get all the rich nutrients and protein they need in a healthier natural way.
You can also try their Peanut Powder. This is great added to smoothies or recipes but can also be mixed up with water and used to make a sandwich. Pediatric allergists also recommend Peanut Powder as a safe and healthy way to introduce peanuts early on into a baby’s diet. Studies show that introducing peanuts to kids between the ages of 4-6 months reduces chances of developing a peanut allergy by 70-80 percent.
