I can’t believe it’s almost Thanksgiving. This year has been SO crazy with the pandemic and moving out of state. Normally I’m almost done with my Christmas shopping by now. This year I haven’t even started! I see so many people decorating for Christmas early this year so I feel even more behind! If you are the in the same boat or are looking to finish up some of your Christmas Shopping, consider Gramma in a Box! There’s even a Black Friday deal which I’ll tell you more about at the end of this post.
Gramma in a Box makes a great gift, either as a one time gift or as a subscription (which I highly recommend!) All Gramma in a Box cookie and candy craft boxes are themed. This month is Thanksgiving themed. Each box is only $22 when purchased individually which is really an exceptional value when you consider the cost of buying all the supplies in full sizes and the time it would take to track them down! Save even more with a subscription which will bring the price down to just $20 per box! Everything you need comes neatly arranged inside of a red box and delivered right to your mailbox!
The first project from the November box was Acorn Kisses. These are made by spreading melting chocolate to the top of a Vanilla Wafer and adding a Hershey Kiss to one side of it and a chocolate chip to the other. These are so easy but so cute! “Gramma” gives clearly written instructions with photos for every project and even offers extra tips! Make sure to save half of the melting chocolate from the first project because you’ll need it for the second project.
The second project was Goofy Turkey Buddies. This project uses the leftover melting chocolate, pretzel rods, candy corn, candy eyes and candy coated sunflower seeds. These are hilarious and adorable at the same time. I love the way they turned out, even though I’m pretty sure some of the candy corn got eaten rather than used on the project! That’s why one of them looks like a poop emoji! There weren’t any candy corn left to use for the tail feathers! Gramma always sends plenty of supplies but sometimes my little makers can’t help themselves from gobbling them up before they should!
The third project is always cookie decorating and one of my family’s favorites. They look forward to seeing what three colors of frosting will be included and what shape cookies they’ll get to decorate. Gramma herself actually makes the cookies for each kit which I think is really cool. You always get several different shapes of cookies, 3 colors of frosting and a variety of sprinkles, candies and/or colored sugar to decorate them! Gramma Terry posts little videos to her social media accounts and demonstrates different decorating techniques that my kids love to try. This project allows them to experiment and use their creativity. There is never a shortage of frosting or decorations — more than enough for the project. In fact my kids often save some of them to use later!
This month they got brown, orange and yellow frosting with yellow and orange colored sugar, tiny ball sprinkles and a fall sprinkle mix. Cookie shapes included turkeys, candy corn, acorns and leaves.
This month my youngest daughter and I did the box together since my older daughter was busy. It was really fun spending this quality time together with my little! Gramma in a Box is always a good time no matter who gets to do the projects — it always brings people together for wholesome fun!
More about Gramma in a Box
“Gramma Terry” started making Gramma in a Box for her grandkids who live in a different state. She’d send them the kit and they’d do the projects “together” via Skype. Now she spreads the joy to anyone that wants a subscription! She comes up with themed cookies and candy crafts each month then puts together detailed instructions and bonus tips. The contents of each box are always very organized. The directions are easy to follow so it’s clear which ingredients go with which project. You can see all of the Gramma in a Box projects we’ve done here.
This is the perfect gift to send to a child home for the summer, especially since other things are so limited due to the pandemic. It’s a fun project that promotes quality family time and is something to look forward to each month. You can subscribe with an auto debit program for only $20 per month. Prepay for a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription and save 10%! Order by the 3rd of the month to receive that month’s box. You can find out more at www.grammainabox.com. You can also visit Gramma in a box on Facebook and Instagram for videos of each project and more!
