Whole Foods Market kicked off it’s first ever Beauty Week today to celebrate all things beauty with events, demonstrations, classes and promotions. It runs through March 24. Shoppers will also have the opportunity to pick up a limited edition “Hello, Beauty!” bag for $18 (valued at $60), beginning Saturday, March 21, at 10 a.m. local time. Bags are made with 100 percent cotton recycled saris from RIJI Green, a business committed to ending human trafficking. Each beauty bag is filled with six exclusive product samples, including Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub, Acure Cell Stimulating Facial Mask, Giovanni 2chic Ultra Repair Shampoo, Pacifica Eye Shadow Duo or Lipstick, Trilogy Vital Moisturizing Cream and Gabriel Mascara, plus $5 in beauty coupons.
Worth noting is the facial care sale from March 20 to 22. Shoppers will save 25 percent on all facial care items!
This week I made my first ever trip to a Whole Foods store. Did you know that Whole Foods has baseline standards for their products that prohibit 50 ingredients? It’s nice to shop knowing that I don’t have to check the label on every product for yucky chemicals. Their selection is pretty good too with over 4000 premium body care products. Additionally, Whole Foods has also set its own standards for organic labeling on personal care products, as there are no mandatory government standards for the “organic” label claim on body care products.

During my visit I purchased several products to switch my usual products from. A few of them I already know are keeper! See my switches below:
These products are similar but one of them I can pick up at Whole Foods where I know the standards ensure this is a product without anything yucky in it. Another good price too — I think this 16 oz bottle was around $7.
A hairspray with tangerine and papaya butter? Yes please! Whole Foods had a great selection of haircare products. I want to go back and pick up one of their dry shampoos to see how it compares with what I’m already using. One of the employees told me she uses it and thinks it works well. The employees there were all super helpful!
I love this Acure lip gloss! It was only about $6 and it is so moisturizing! The color is really pretty too. I’ll definitely be trying more from this brand!
I switched out Vaseline Lip Therapy for Pacifica Natural Minerals Color Quench Lip Tint in Coconut Nectar. It’s pretty sheer with a hit of shimmery color and it smells like coconut! Love it! It goes on really smooth and makes my lips feel nice.
I obviously needed a new toothbrush. This one was inexpensive and it’s made from recycled yogurt cups! I just ordered Young Living Thieves Toothpaste and I can’t wait to try it with my new toothbrush! I got the kids some new toothbrushes while I was there too.
Who knew you could green up your nail polish? Mineral Fusion nail polish doesn’t have yucky chemicals like formaldehyde, toluene, camphor and dibutyl phthalate commonly found in other polishes. There are a lot of fun colors to pick from too!
These are just a few of the beauty products available at Whole Foods. I’m hooked! I can’t wait to go back and shop again. Next time I won’t have lunch first — the food smelled and looked amazing!
