So, Thanksgiving is next week. Thankfully, I’m not hosting. When I asked what I could bring, I was told to bring whatever dishes our family likes or considers must-haves. For me, it’s green bean casserole and cranberry orange relish. But then I got to thinking. The Thanksgiving beverage is often overlooked. There are so many foods to eat and enjoy that sometimes we just drink whatever is on hand. Thanksgiving is special though so this year instead of the bottled sparkling cider we sometimes have, I’ve created a super easy yet delicious and refreshing beverage for the whole family to enjoy. Here’s what you need:
- Cranberry Sprite (I found this at Walmart)
- Fresh cranberries (if desired)
- An orange
- Dole Frozen Raspberries
This beverage really can’t get any easier to make. Just pour the cranberry Sprite into a glass. Add a few frozen raspberries and a squeeze of orange. Viola! I actually didn’t end up using any of the fresh cranberries but they an look really pretty as a garnish. I have a crystal pitcher I’ll probably use on Thanksgiving. I’m considering muddling the raspberries, adding the orange slices and floating some cranberries on top. I might even add some whipped vodka just for fun.
I like this drink because it can look pretty and fancy but if that isn’t your thing, it can also hang with the cool kids in a mason jar (with some cranberries!):
Whenever I need frozen fruit for a recipe, Dole is my go-to brand, even if I have to hunt it down. I learned a quick lesson in my search for these raspberries. The Dole website actually has a really cool location feature that can track down the exact product you’re looking for. I mistakenly assumed it would just tell me which stores carried the frozen fruit products, not specifically which products.
I chose frozen over fresh for this recipe because raspberries are so delicate. Unless I can get them fresh locally, I don’t have much luck with the quality of them. DOLE Raspberries are harvested at the peak of the season to ensure you are getting only the finest quality fruit available. Each delicate red berry is washed and ready to eat. I can just plop them right into my drink without a single care! No yucky, moldy berries to pick through!

So tell me, what does your family drink on Thanksgiving? Do you have a traditional beverage? Or is this something that gets overlooked in your family too? I encourage you to give this easy recipe a try — It’s delicious!
