It’s always a good idea to have something on hand to make a last minute dessert. Maybe it’s just me because I have an out of control sweet tooth but I love being able to make something delicious on the spur of the moment without having to run to the store. Chocolate chip cookies, No Bakes, Lemon Bars and Brownies are my family’s go-to desserts because we always have the ingredients on hand to make them.
Instead of using a boxed mix, you can make your own brownie mix with a few common ingredients:
2 Cups Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
6 Cups Flour
8 Cups Sugar
1 Tbsp Salt
1 1/2 Tbsp Baking Powder
Just mix all of the ingredients together in a large bowl with a whisk until completely blended. Store in a large jar with a lid. I was worried that my jar (pictured) wasn’t quite big enough for a full recipe so I halved it. The jar is shown after making one batch of brownies so it’s missing 2 1/4 cups of Brownie Mix to give you an idea of how much it makes.

2 1/4 Brownie Mix
3 Eggs
1/2 Cup Oil
2 Tbsp Water
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
Bake at 325 degrees in a greased 9×12 pan for 20-30 minutes.
This mix makes a delicious brownie plain but you can always fancy them up a bit by adding chocolate chips, caramel drizzle, cream cheese, peanut butter, or my favorite — coconut syrup. It’s up to you!
I found some free printable labels on Pinterest. For the directions, I used this one. For the label, I used this one.
This also makes a nice hostess or housewarming gift!
