The Hub and Twittermoms have asked us to write a post about ways to incorporate fun into our child’s daily activities. My kids are still young, so keep this in mind, but here’s my post.
1. Laugh. Tickle the kids. Make silly faces. Do whatever you can to get your children to laugh. It is the best medicine after all!
2. Dance. Turn on some music and twirl in circles if you must. My daughter likes to shake her booty back and forth and it then, in turn, makes us all laugh. I love it. I always have a constant smile this way.
3. Sing. We love to hum to start off with. Afterwards, we start singing like crazy. It cracks me up when my daughter sings Beyonce or Black Eyed Peas. She will hum the parts she dosen’t know. It’s cute.
4. Play. What child doesn’t like to play? Build a fort or create a tent out of sheets. Pull out Play Doh, play ring around the rosie- do whatever you can to get their little minds going.
5. Creative activities. Pull out the construction paper, scissors, glue, markers, crayons and glitter. Then, get to work! It is a great time of the year to be creative. Create pumpkins, turkeys or color Santa. The possibilities are endless!
6. Go outside. Play tag with your kids. Take them to a park and swing. Let their little booties run wild.
7. Cook together. My daughter loves to bake. Actually, I think she likes to eat it more than bake, so the anticipation kills her. I try to teach her by explaining what I am doing as I am making my dishes.
8. Play games. We have Memory cards and we also play games like hide and seek. She always hides in the bathroom so it’s easy to find her, but it’s cute nonetheless.
9. Watch movies together. It is not going to hurt the kids to turn on some Mickey, Dora or whatever their poison may be. Have a family movie night each week on Fridays or Saturdays. Pop some popcorn and put your feet up!
10. Read. My children love to read stories. Even though they can’t read yet, they pretend like they can. They love when I read them a daily story as well. Fox in Sox is a hit in our house right now!
