Two and half years ago we moved into our current home. It had most of our wish list items with the exception of granite countertops and a little more land. Other things were a pretty easy fix. It came without a refrigerator and stove so we purchased the ones we wanted in stainless steel. My in-laws replaced the over-the-stove microwave with a stainless steel one for Christmas and we were left with this:
A white dishwasher that didn’t match anything. It worked well enough if we used the pot-scrubber mode so we made due and tried to ignore the fact that it didn’t match while replacing it climbed closer to the top of our priority list. Then Best Buy offered to send me a brand new Samsung WaterWall dishwasher to review. It was everything I had hoped for and more!
Goodbye old white, hello gorgeous new stainless steel! Isn’t it a beauty?! It’s stainless inside and out and features THREE trays!
Loading my dishwasher has never been easier. There is so much room inside this thing and all of the adjustable parts allow you to customize it to fit your needs and preferences — we all know that how to load a dishwasher “correctly” is a matter of personal opinion! The height of the upper rack can be adjusted to accommodate plates up to 12″ on the lower rack or 8″ on the top rack. If you have extremely large items to wash, the upper rack can be removed all together (on model DW60H9940 only).
Do you see that tiny rack at the very top? It’s called a FlexTray. It has a flexible liner that is removable and has handles so you can just fold it in half and carry the contents wherever you need to! It’s perfect for silverware and serving utensils. Our silverware drawer is right next to the dishwasher and almost exactly the same height as the FlexTray. Do you know what that means?! I don’t have to bend over to remove my silverware and put it away!
This dishwasher also comes with the more traditional style silverware holder which is also removable and a special accessory for washing wine glasses. Everything about this dishwasher is so versatile! I love it!
It’s really easy to use — there aren’t any confusing buttons, just this simple control panel that is completely hidden when the door is closed (awesome for keeping little curious fingers off!). You can set it for a delayed start time, set zone boosters if you need them or set the cycle to auto, normal, heavy, delicate or express 60 for a quicker wash cycle. For us personally, I don’t see any use for the delayed start time. The dishwasher runs so quietly that if the TV is on in the living room I have to bend down and put my ear next to the dishwasher to check that it even started. Our house has two hot water tanks so water pressure and temperature is never a problem even if we have multiple appliances or showers running at the same time. If you do have any of those issues though, the delayed start feature could really come in handy!
The Zone Booster is really awesome because you can get a cleaning boost on casserole dishes or pots & pans that need extra attention. Just select the button in the zone in which you loaded these items. You gotta love that! No more pre-washing or hand washing dishes with this baby!
Maybe I’m silly but one of my favorite things about this dishwasher is the blue lighting in the recessed handle. It just looks so cool! The stainless steel surface is a little bit harder to keep clean than old white but it is SO worth it! I love the look of it!
I highly recommend the Samsung WaterWall Dishwasher with a powerful sweeping wall of water. The ease of use, quietness and awesome features make this dishwasher top notch. You can get it at Best Buy!
