If you’re anything like me you have recipes in a completely unorganized mess. I have recipes saved as emails in my inbox, written as blog posts, scribbled on scraps of paper, pinned to Pinterest, as notes on my iPhone and a notebook full of loose papers which was meant to keep my recipes organized. Enter Key Ingredient Recipe Reader. Problem solved! Now I can keep all of my recipes in a simple kitchen safe device. Most of the time I’m trying to access recipes from my iPhone which really isn’t meant for kitchen use. The Recipe Reader is. This touchscreen device has a tilted base so the screen is easily readable from the countertop — and it’s splash resistant!

Store and manage all of your favorite recipes at the Key Ingredient website and access them from your Recipe Reader. It syncs wirelessly to your account so you’ll always have access to all of your recipes (up to 2500!) If you don’t have WiFi you can connect it to your computer via a USB cable to sync it with your Key Ingredient account. The 7″ touchscreen device features adjustable font sizes, three built-in timers, and ingredient substitution suggestions. The intuitive graphical navigation system makes it easy to use while the durable plastic exterior makes it easy to keep clean. Cooking a 5 course meal? Use the Planner function to easily flip through your menu’s recipes.
The Key Ingredient website is set up a lot like Pinterest but it’s just for recipes. You can easily search for and save the best recipes on the site but it’s also super simple to add recipes from ANY website. Just add the “cookmark” button to the bookmarks bar on your browser. When you come across a recipe you want to save, it’s as simple as clicking the button. It pulls all of the info from the page and you can even edit it right there without leaving the page you’re on. It doesn’t pull the image which is sort of a bummer but the extra step of saving the picture and uploading it only takes a few extra seconds.
You can easily add your own recipes too. This can be a little bit time consuming but completely worth the effort — it’s one of the first things I did! I added my most frequently used recipes and immediately felt a sense of relief. Now I know exactly where my recipes are and they’re kept safe! They won’t be lost or spilled on and instead of rummaging around for my recipe, I can find it with the search function!
