When I first saw the KISS InstaWave styler I was really intrigued but honestly very skeptical. This automatic curling iron gathers up your hair and twists it around the barrel to curl it. It claims to be “tangle-free”. I was terrified when I first used it. I couldn’t fathom how something that works the way this does wouldn’t tangle up my long hair into a mess without being a pro at using it. I was very pleasantly surprised how easy it is to use and shocked that it is pretty much foolproof — it really is tangle-free!
This is a recent photo of my and my son to show you that my hair is naturally straight. It typically doesn’t hold curl well at all so I don’t usually bother. In fact, about a year ago I went as far as getting a perm just to give my limp hair some life. The curl pulled straight out the very same day — it didn’t take at all!
This is a photo of me after my first attempt at using the InstaWave. It was so easy to use and took far less time to curl than any other method I’ve tried. It was pretty impressive.
Even more shockingly, the curl held fairly well. This is a photo of me and my son at midnight on New Year’s Eve, the same day as the previous photo. While the curl is less, my hair still has body and I was very happy with the results.

The InstaWave has two heat settings (high and low) with a max temperature of 420. I love that it has an auto-shut off feature at 90 minutes. I always worry that I’ve left styling tools on so this is an important feature to me.

Wow. I really like this. I have short hair now but I would love to give my hair some waves. It is so straight. My daughter and granddaughter would love this too. We could have like a girls curling hair night. Sounds like a lot of fun to me….
