Thank you for taking the time to share this heart wrenching story! I am so sorry that you have to deal with this as a part of your job. It sickens me that we haven’t found a cure yet for the flu and measles. Yes, we have vaccinations and yes they work sometimes. For the record, I am pro green-vaccination myself, but also pro choice, like everything else in this country for the most part. I was like you once. I believed all children should have vaccinations always, on time, no exceptions, and if they didn’t they were bad parents and playing russian roulette with their child’s lives. That was until a young family member of mine was diagnosed with a type of autism because of vaccinations. How do we know? Because things he was doing as a late baby/almost toddler, he stopped doing and it took many months to do again right after a vaccination. I’ve known babies that have died right after a vaccination. Many articles and studies (search for the ones who are bipartial meaning not from drug companies and not from anti vaccines), including many doctors have come right out and said that vaccinations are killing children, causing autism, adhd, illness, and much more. Dr. Sherri Tenpenny led the charge and many have followed. Now the flu vaccine is different, I won’t let my daughters or myself get one anymore. We reacted to it too much and it only protects against 4 strains of the flu currently and, if you are lucky, it might protect you enough to get you through the year. There are 3 types of influenza, 11 subtypes, and then broken down into strains from there. So basically they guess which ones might hit the populations. It’s just not worth it to me to put the crud into them or myself for it anymore. I lucked out, my daughter had reactions to all vaccinations basically (she swelled up at injection sites and acted strangely after for a while) but hopefully did not cause any damage. Yes, the diseases themselves are horrible!! That is why I am pro green vaccinations. Meaning I am for the vaccination/drug companies using alternative ingredients in their vaccinations and different schedules so it doesn’t hurt our children. I also think there should be a blood test beforehand for each child to make sure they will not have a reaction. I’m sorry, I know this is your blog, not mine and I hope I am not being rude. I just want you to see where the parents are coming from. They are not bad people at all for doing this. They actually think they are protecting their children more or less. It’s a tough call for any parent. Please feel free to delete this , of course. Again, thank you for opening the lines of communication on this topic and sharing your heartfelt story. My heart goes out to you and I am grateful that there are people like you there to comfort the grieving parents of those lost little ones.
