I swore when we bought our new house last December that I would cook more. Our kitchen is a LOT bigger and the storage space perfect for all of my kitchen appliances. Since I can stash them away though, a little bit of “out of sight, out of mind” comes into play. It’s been awhile since I’ve used my Magimix food processor. It comes with all sorts of slicing discs but additional accessories are also available separately. Recently I was able to test out the Juice Extractor and Smoothie Attachment. First of all, I was excited to learn that such a thing even existed! I have been curious about juicing but it’s amazing how quickly extra storage space fills up when you have it and adding another appliance wasn’t something I really wanted to do. I was happy to be reminded of what my food processor is capable of! It can easily take the place of several kitchen gadgets and appliances!
The juice extractor and smoothie attachment is perfect for making sorbets, recipes that call for fresh juice and smoothies of course! I’m sure you can use it to make some great soups, jams and sauces but I started out with something simple: carrot apple juice. My four year old was super excited to give it a try. She enjoyed helping me push the apple slices and carrots through with the pusher.

This attachment was super easy to use. You just drop it right in, turn it on and push the fruits and veggies through! Cleaning it on the other hand was a little tougher. It didn’t rinse right out. Bits of fruit and veggie pulp get stuck in the mesh. It will take a bit of work to get it clean but like I said before, I’m sort of lazy in the kitchen. And it is dishwasher safe.
You can find out more and even watch a little video about the Magimix by Robot-Coupe Juice Extractor & Smoothie Attachment on the Williams-Sonoma website.
