I love supporting brands that empower women to be small business owners. Merle Norman in a strong, female-founded brand that offers outstanding on-trend cosmetics and skincare. The brand has been around for nine decades so they know what they are doing! I have loved every single Merle Norman product that I have tried and their latest are no exception!
Here’s a little more about the founder that I found interesting:
Merle Nethercutt Norman set the bar high for empowering women – Merle was one of the first to set her sights on the proverbial glass ceiling that women continuously seek to shatter. She worked hard, loved what she did, and transferred that passion, paving the way for thousands of entrepreneurs after her.
The unique idea that women should try cosmetics products with the guidance of a beauty expert before making a purchase was introduced by Merle in 1931. One of the first women in the cosmetics industry and a true innovator, Merle combined her revolutionary business model with breakthrough products that empowered women (many Mother’s themselves) to look and feel their best, and become self-sufficient business owners by selling Merle Norman Cosmetics products in their own Studios. To say Merle was ahead of her time is a vast understatement.

I am in love with the Knockout Nudes 2 Palette. The colors are absolutely gorgeous and every single one of them is a color I would pick out and purchase individually. They all work so well together!
This palette features eight versatile mattes and two light-catching metallic colors (my favorite!). The formula is Dermatologist and Ophthalmologist tested, fragrance-free, oil-free and gluten-free.
Normally I’m not a fan of the brushes that come with palettes but this double ended brush works pretty well! It has a rounded brush on one end and a flat brush on the other. Together these help you easily apply and blend these gorgeous colors.

By no means am I an expert at makeup. I wear makeup daily but keep it quick and simple — that’s why I love the colors and formula of the shadows in this palette. For this look I just used the plum color (far left) on the corner of my eyes and in the crease. Then I used the slightly darker metallic colors (4th from the right) over the lid. I think it’s a pretty, everyday look but could be intensified for a more dramatic look.

I haven’t always used blush in my makeup routine. I didn’t think it was necessary. I’m glad that I discovered it thought because I think it can give your face a really healthy looking glow! The Merle Norman Lasting Cheekcolor is really easy to use and only adds a few seconds to my routine. The silky powder formula goes on smoothly and blends easily, providing subtle, fade-resistant color which can be built upon for more intense color. The soft, translucent finish is talc-free, fragrance-free, oil-free and gluten-free. It’s available in 22 shades so you’ll be sure to find the perfect color!

I love that I can get a look that I feel confident about very quickly with these products. I can get my makeup done in under five minutes and feel good the entire day! The shadow doesn’t crease but both the blush and the eye shadows stay put and looking good all day long!
