Our family likes to stay active. We have three young kids and we’re often on-the-go. From sports practices & games to camping, riding bikes, walks on the beach and more, we like to get out and have fun. From the time I was a teenager I’ve had back pain. I’m 5’9″ and have always attributed the discomfort with my stature (and bad posture). It wasn’t until someone pointed out to me that my shoes might be the culprit I never even considered it. At first I was stubborn and refused to admit that my shoes had anything to do with it. Then I tried something new and became a believer. Ever since then I’ve been very selective with my shoe choices.
Vionic shoes feature Orthaheel Technology which is built into every pair of their shoes and sandals. It helps alleviate foot, back and leg pain but better yet, it helps prevent it. One of the most notable conditions Orthaheel Technology relieves is plantar fasciitis. I don’t know if this is something that runs in families but my dad had it and it was extremely painful. One of the reasons I chose not to look to my shoes as a source of my back problems was because I didn’t want to have to resort to wearing ugly shoes. All I could think of was big clunky orthopedic shoes with no style at all. Vionic shoes are the opposite. They’re super cute and stylish making them fun to wear. Normally, I avoid anything with any sort of a heel because it tends to cause back pain in a matter of minutes. I loved the style of the Catarina T-strap Wedge Sandals and with the promise of pain-free wearing, I couldn’t wait to try them. When they arrived I put them on immediately. I loved the suede-like microfiber footbed. It was cushiony and soft. I wore them for a couple of hours while I did some busy work around the house and was surprised to find that they were comfortable. I’d never last two hours in a normal heel!
I’m super excited because now I don’t have to wear flats with everything! I love the bronze color of the Catarina T-Strap Wedge because they go with just about anything. They also come in some other great colors including lavender which is really pretty.

The Orthaheel Technology has definitely made my life better by not having to sacrifice style and comfort for shoes that don’t cause pain. This summer I’ll be able to go to barbecues, the park and even a wedding, all places I’ll be on my feet for long periods of time and I’ll be able to wear stylish and fashionable shoes!
