Nanoblocks super tiny blocks!
My 7 year old’s interests truly amaze me. He loves sports and more often than not, he’s tossing a ball around. When he’s not, he’s either building with construction blocks or putting together a puzzle. I love that he can go from being really active to a quiet yet mentally engaging activity so easily. He’s always very determined when it comes to building sets. He likes to work until they’re complete, no matter how big the project. When I heard about Nanoblocks I knew he’d be up for the challenge.
Nanoblocks are the world’s smallest building block construction system from The Ohio Art Company which is now for sale in TARGET stores! The mini series is pictured above. We got the Green Tree Frog. This set has over 80 pieces and is a level 2 for difficult (5 is the most difficult). The sets were designed for ages 8 and up but since Jackson has quite a bit of experience with building blocks, I was confident he’d be able complete these sets.
They’re harder than I thought! The pieces really are tiny! He got a little frustrated when he put a few pieces in the wrong place and couldn’t get them back off. He tried his Lego too but it was too big to work with these small pieces and I had to help him. Personally, I like the fact that Nanoblocks are a bit more challenging. He’ll have to work a little harder and a little longer to put each set together but he’ll feel more accomplished in the end!
The Sights to See series is even more challenging with a lot more pieces. We received the Sydney Opera House set pictured above right. With a level 4 difficulty and over 430 pieces, this set will keep Jackson busy for awhile.
Nanoblocks are a great quiet time activity that is engaging and fun for little builders. Prices range from around $11 for a mini set all the way up to around $300 for a Deluxe set. You can find out more here or check them out in Target stores!
