My husband an I recently had the rare opportunity to take a vacation sans kids. For the first time ever leaving them for more than one night, we headed to Vegas. To say I was excited is an understatement. In my excitement I made a mistake while booking our trip. We had planned on checking just one large bag so we wouldn’t have to worry about things like liquids and razors. Instead, I accidentally checked the box “carry-on”. Since I wasn’t able to contact the airline or change my booking online I had to add a second carry-on so we’d have enough space to pack for 5 days. The airline we were flying while very inexpensive, is also very strict. They had very specific guidelines for the dimensions of the carry-on luggage and seemed very much on the small side. I had borrowed two carry-ons from my dad but only one of them fit the required dimensions. Luckily I was able to find a great bag at Rakuten.com Shopping and have it delivered before our trip.
The Olympia Titan Hardside 21″ Carry-on exceeded my expectations. I couldn’t believe how much I fit into this small suitcase. I easily packed enough clothing for five days including 3 pairs of shoes and my toiletries bag. I love how the suitcase utilizes both halves. One section is secured by zippered mesh while the other half is contained by some elastic straps with a plastic clip. Both sides feature interior lining. I stuffed this thing so full I was worried that I’d be over the required dimensions because I had unzipped the extension which allows for approximately 2″ more space. After closing the suitcase though, my husband pointed out that I could easily zip it back down. I was shocked. It was practically a miracle how much I was able to fit in this small bag. It has really heavy duty zippers too that work flawlessly and are designed to last. In fact, this suitcase has a 10 year warranty!
I continued to be impressed once we were on the road. The 4 spinner wheels allow the bag to glide effortlessly along. The handle extends smoothly with just the press of a button. While my husband struggled with the handle of his bag which kept getting stuck and the annoyance of his 2 wheeled bag falling over when we were stopped I was secretly thanking the travel Gods for my new suitcase! The hard outer shell is protective as well as attractive. It’s constructed of durable polycarbonate so it can take it’s fair share of knocks. Bumping through the narrow airplane aisles, jostling in the overhead bins and evening rolling through the slush and snow that we came home to, this suitcase held up like a champ. The next time we travel and need a larger suitcase I won’t hesitate to buy another one of these in a bigger size. I’m throughly impressed with the quality and functionality of the Olympia Titan Hardside Carry-on!
