I have been a huge fan of Paula’s Choice skin care products for many many years. While I’ve tried a few of the cosmetics here and there, they usually weren’t quite what I was looking for. That all changed when I tried the new Nude Mattes Palette. Normally I find matte shadows hard to work with unless they’re in a loose powder form. The shadows in this palette couldn’t be any easier to use. They are super blendable. The neutral shades look great on any skin tone and the soft, buttery pigments glide on easily. The color is buildable for subtle to dramatic looks.
This limited edition palette was designed in collaboration with popular YouTube makeup artist Wayne Goss. It features 12 flattering shades that were designed to play up your best features. The palette does include one soft shimmer shade called “Pink Sugar” which is perfect for highlighting or adding a little bit of shine to any of the matte colors. It happens to be one of my favorite colors in this palette.
A few of these colors are also great for brows. I really like “Chocolate Truffle”, the third darkest shade. It only takes a few seconds to fill in my brows and it matches just right. The second lightest color, “Beige” is my favorite to use all over for a base and the 4th color in, “Café au Lait” is perfect for subtle crease shading. Depending on the look I’m going for, most of the darker shades are great as eyeliner. I love the way it blends so it doesn’t look harsh.
This palette includes 12, 0.04 oz. eyeshadows: (1) Cream, (2) Beige, (3) Pink Sugar, (4) Café au Lait, (5) Tan, (6) Chestnut, (7) Clay, (8) Plum Taupe, (9) Gunmetal Grey, (10) Chocolate Truffle, (11) Coffee (12) Onyx. It sells for just $40 which I think is a fantastic price for this awesome product. I highly recommend it. In fact, since it’s a limited edition, I’m considering buying a second one and stashing it because I know this one is going to get a lot of use and I’ll be so sad if I can’t get another when I run out!
I really love Paula’s Choice Sheer Cream Lipstick so I wanted to give the Perfect Shine Lipgloss a try. It’s a lot different than the glosses I’m used to so it’s harder for me to work with. It’s not as sheer as I expected it would be and the colors are pretty bright. I didn’t care for the shades on their own but found that they did work quite well over lipstick. The formula itself is nice. It glides on super smooth and keeps your lips conditioned and moisturized while providing a light shine. Antioxidants protect skin from environmental damage, too!
The Pink Lemonade color is my favorite. To me, it’s a light coral shade that’s really pretty and perfect for spring. These glosses sell for $10 each.
