I recently received a box from Plan Toys. I’m a big fan of their educational toys because they are simple yet encourage creative thinking. Inside the box was 5 round wooden disks. Each disk had a number (1-5) on one side and a color on the other side. There were also different shaped & colored wooden blocks. Since their were no directions included, I came up with my own. I laid out each disk and told my two year old which number each one was. I had him stack the 5 green blocks on top of the number 5 disk, the four red blocks on top of the number four disk and so on. We really need to work on his counting skills so this was right up our alley. He really enjoyed taking his time standing the blocks on end so they wouldn’t tumble over. In fact, this toy/game is actually called Tower Tumbling.
Later, I found the actual directions- to STACK the blocks and disks (see picture above). This looks more challenging but a lot more fun. I can’t wait to try it with him! There are several different ways to use this set regardless of directions. Whether you are working on colors or numbers, this toy is great for sorting as well as practicing motor skills with stacking.
Plan Toys has so many great wooden toys. Toys that will last a lifetime! Brightly colored and durable, baby toys can be passed down from one generation to the next and are worth every penny! They make excellent gifts.
