My family sampled the Spicy Marinara variety. We used the sauce on cheese ravioli. My three year old’s first impression was “Mommy, I don’t like it” Yet he ate it all and asked for a second helping. My 1 year old daughter had the same reaction in not so many words. She cried for a couple bites but at it all and had more. While my hubby and I didn’t mind the flavor, it wasn’t our favorite and we probably won’t purchase it again. It did have bit of a kick to it (hence the name “Spicy” Marinara) which is something we aren’t used to in our red pasta sauces. Of course, I liked the fact that I was feeding my family something with health benefits and I’m curious to see if we like any of the other varieties.
Mindy’s family sampled the Tomato & Basil flavor. Here are her thoughts:
I was excited to try the sauce out since I am trying to be more health conscious. We paired it with whole wheat pasta and added some meat to the mix. The good news is that everyone ate it- even my picky children. The bad news is that it wasn’t that great in mine or my husband’s opinions. It was just kind of bland and had a bit of an odd taste to it. It was too “runny/watery” also where I prefer the sauce to be thick. I can’t say that we will buy the sauce again either.
