I was given a toy from Maukilo to review. I chose Ducky Duck. Made by HABA, Ducky Duck is a brightly colored wooden pull toy which was named Toy of the Year in Parents magazine. I was really excited about this toy because my daughter is just entering the perfect age for it. Pull toys are classics and I know this particular one will last. I love buying toys that are heirloom quality because I think it is really special to pass toys onto your own children that you’ve played with and loved yourself. There are certain toys I buy with this in mind. Wooden toys in particular are usually sturdy and very well made and Ducky Duck is no exception. It’s made from beechwood and brightly colored with child safe paints. When pulled across the floor, Ducky Duck’s feet make a slapping noise as he waddles along. McKinley isn’t quite walking yet so she can’t pull it herself but she giggles when her two year old brother pulls it around for her.
She can stand on her own in middle of a room, squat down and pick up a toy, and stand back up without falling so I know it won’t be long until she’s pulling Ducky Ducky around on her own. I can’t wait to see her do it!
