When my son was an infant, he’d only sleep about thirty minutes at a time then wake up crying and cranky. He’d fall asleep in my arms, I’d set him down and he’d wake up again. I was exhausted and frustrated and wondered why he wouldn’t just sleep longer. A friend of mine recommended swaddling. He was a large baby and swaddling in a receiving blanket didn’t work well because he’d just wiggle his way out of them. I ended up purchasing a Velcro style swaddling blanket and it worked for awhile but it wasn’t long before he was too big for it.
When my daugther was born I knew from experience how effective swaddling can be. I started swaddling her at night and before she was even two months old she was sleeping through the night quite frequently. I believe swaddling played a role in this.
A few weeks ago I switched from using the Velcro style swaddle that I used with my son to the Miracle Blanket. It is a little harder to get on but it works so much better! If done correctly it is nearly impossible for the baby to wiggle their arms free. One of the reasons swaddling helps babies sleep is due to the fact that until babies are three to five months old they have something called Moro Reflex. Also called startle reflex, infants respond to loud noises by flinging their arms out and then retracting them. This reflex is also caused when the baby feels like it is falling. The fear of falling is the only unlearned fear in newborns. My son must have really been afraid of falling because he startled all the time which was why he could never sleep for very long unless he was swaddled.
My daughter is 11 weeks old and she LOVES her Miracle Blanket. Every night around 8 pm she gets fussy. As soon as I swaddle her in her Miracle Blanket she relaxes and goes to sleep. I normally only swaddle her at night but the other day she was really fussy and I couldn’t figure out what she needed so I decided to swaddle her and laid her in her crib. She went right to sleep and napped for a couple of hours. She woke up smiling and happy!
Right now, Miracle Blanket is offering 10% off any blanket or 15% off when you purchase 2 or more. Visit www.miracleblanket.com to learn more. Check out the video to see how to swaddle with a Miracle Blanket.

So I am having the same problem with my 4 month old daughter. When I 1st brought her home from the hospital I never bothered to swaddler her when she slept because she would wiggle her way out. I was never getting any sleep because she was up every 1/2 hour. So at about 6 weeks old I tride swaddling her and she has been sleeping through the night and taking longer naps. I have been using the kiddopotomus brand Swaddle Me blankets, but she is now getting too big. Do you find that the Miralce Blanket is bigger in size because if so I will be ordering some ASAP!!
Rachel, I was also using the Kiddopotmos which I believe comes in two sizes. The Miracle Blanket only comes in one size but it’s style is more like a traditional swaddle where the blanket is wrapped around the body. Check out the video on http://www.miracleblanket.com to see what I mean. The package says up to 14 weeks but that is based on American Academy of Pediatrics recommendation. Many parents safely swaddle their babies past the 14 week mark.If your baby is able to roll over, swaddling becomes a SIDS risk. My daughter is 11 weeks and fits just fine in the Miracle Blanket (she has outgrown the size small Kiddopotomus) I hope this info helps!
With baby #3 arriving in June, I need all of the help I can get with preparing her to be a good sleeper! My older boys both loved to be swaddled, but I never had a “special” blanket….and they could wiggle out! I’d LOVE to win this blanket in hopes that #3 will be my best sleeper! *fingers crossed!* ~Kirsten

I am looking forward to my littleone in May. I really would love to have a miracle blanket to help my littleone be a good sleeper! thank you so much
My daughter has never liked to be swaddled. From the time she was a few days old she’d be able to wiggle her arms loose from her receiving blankets no matter how snuggly we wrapper her. I would love to win this. Thanks!
