Hope, Faith and Charlie is a true story about one family’s struggle dealing with a very rare form of brain and spine cancer that was discovered when their son, Charlie, was only 6 months old. On the day that he was diagnosed, his mom, Deirdre, made a promise to God and herself that she would do what she could to restore peoples faith and belief in miracles if God would spare his life. The odds were not in their favor and doctors gave him 10 months to live. They also wanted to conduct a “Phase 1” study on him which is something they only offer to terminal patients. Following their hearts, they sought a second opinion and followed a different path. After 21 months of chemo, 11 operations, many, many tough decisions and a lot of faith, hope and prayers one of the hardest decisions was made- to stop the treatments. What they went through was heart wrenching but the strength and will to live that little Charlie showed day after day was truly a miracle. He is one amazing little boy. This book may make you cry but you WILL be inspired and there is no denying the miracle that happened to this family by the grace of God.

I don’t often get a chance to read and almost always pass on book reviews due to the time commitment involved.
