Some of my most effective and cost efficient household cleaners are made from things most of you have around the house, are environmentally friendly, and are safe for use around pets and children.
My favorite all-purpose cleaner is 1 part distilled white vinegar, 1 part water and a squirt or two of dish soap mixed in a spray bottle (from the dollar store, of course!) Due to it’s level of acidity, vinegar is effective at killing most molds, bacteria and germs. I use it to clean my kitchen counters, bathroom surfaces, mirrors and windows. It is really great on vinyl flooring too! Just spray and mop. If you can’t stand the smell of vinegar, try adding a few drops of essential oil to the solution. I added a few drops of vanilla essential oil to my spray bottle and tested it out on my kitchen countertop. The vinegar wasn’t nearly as strong smelling and it faded quickly while the vanilla scent lingered.
You can purchase vinegar by the gallon at grocery stores for a couple of dollars. This equals huge savings compared to the commercial cleaners you might already be using.
