If I had to pick just ONE to recommend, it would be the DC59 Motorhead. While I like the DC65 Animal, (see my review here) I find that the DC59 Motorhead is easier to use and I love the fact that it’s cordless.
It’s silly, I know, but I was super excited to receive a hot pink vacuum. How fun is that?! I had been wanting a cordless vacuum that didn’t sacrifice power. I got that and more in the DC59. It’s super versatile! I can easily clean the stairs, crevices in the couch, under the couch, cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling and so much more. It transitions easily from carpet to hardwood and even has a boost mode for 50% more power on tough tasks. This vacuum out-cleans the top 5 best-selling full-size vacuums while offering the convenience of cord-free cleaning. It’s a dream!
Like all Dyson vacuums, it comes with a selection of attachments for different cleaning jobs such as a crevice tool and an upholstery cleaner. I was super excited that because of it’s size and the fact that it’s cordless, I’ll be able to clean my car with ease! It’s in desperate need of a good vacuum job! Emptying the vacuum’s collection bin couldn’t be any easier. There are no messy bags. Just hold the handle over the garbage can and empty the contents with the touch of a button. It is recommended to wash it out with water once a month. The collection canister is clear so you can see when it needs to be emptied. It’s not very big so sometimes it needs emptying mid-job. I can live with that. The brush bar casing is also clear so I can see when that needs cleaning as well. With several long haired girls around the house, I really appreciate this feature! It reminds me to clear out the hair that gets wrapped around the brush. If I didn’t see it, I probably wouldn’t remember to do it as often as I should.

The Dyson DC59 has everything I want in a vacuum. I didn’t think I’d ever find a cordless vacuum with this much power and versatility and I am thoroughly impressed with all of the well thought out features. At $399, now is the time to grab one! In a few days the price heads back up to $549.99.
