I’ll be honest. I sucked at math in school. My kids are still pretty little — my oldest is only 7 so I haven’t really run into homework problems I can’t handle….yet. I know I will though. And I also know how important math is, especially these days. My son thinks math is fun so I’ve got that going for me, for now. I also have an iPad that is a great resource for learning tools. Unfortunately, finding quality apps that are fun can be like finding a needle in a haystack. There are SO many apps out there that it can be really difficult finding appropriate ones when you need them.
My kid’s school uses a computer math program but it doesn’t have an app. They are supposed to practice at home but we don’t have a desktop for them to use and the kids laptop is too outdated for the program to work properly. As an alternative, I’ve been trying to have them practice with math games on the iPad. It hasn’t worked out that well. I don’t know where to find the good apps. That’s where SkyMath comes in.. SkyMath makes learning on the iPad as easy as possible for busy families with kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade. It discovers where your child is at in math and directs them towards apps curated by a team of teachers and videos at their level. The app also helps parents track and reward their child’s progress with real-world prizes. Check out this short video to better understand the concept:

As a parent, I’m super excited about SkyMath. I know I’ll be getting quality apps that are at my child’s skill level and I won’t be wasting money on useless apps or my valuable time searching for the perfect apps — they are right at my fingertips. The way SkyMath is set up is fun and motivating. I know my kids will not only enjoy using it but really benefit from it as well.
SkyMath has been tested in a summer pilot program with 20 kids from around the country. Kids made, on average, three-quarters of a year’s worth of growth in just one month! Those are excellent results that show that this is an app that kids and parents need!
SkyMath is on Kickstarter because they need your help to bring this awesome app to families across the country. They’ve set a goal of $50,000 to build out a strong backend so SkyMath works for every kid. They also want to make some final design tweaks based on user feedback. Aside from helping to get SkyMath in the app store, there are some perks for backing them. Check out their KickStarter page to see their progress and make a donation.
