My seven year old loves football. He just finished his first season of tackle but football is far from over. Sundays are spent watching the Seahawks and any other teams that happen to be playing. It’s safe to say that almost anything Seahawks related will be a hit on Christmas morning. I was thrilled though to find something that he will not only love but that will benefit his education as well. I absolutely LOVE In the Sports Zone activity books!
Darla Hall loves helping children. She made an activity book for Miles Waldrop, a child that was struck by a car in 2011 to give him something to do while he recovered. She saw a need in the marketplace this type of product so In the Sports Zone was established. Each activity book includes drawing, games, mazes, crosswords, connect the dots, coloring, drivia, pix puzzles, word search puzzles, writing prompts, dream team playing cards and stickers. They are licensed and approved by each collegiate team or the National Football League.
My son doesn’t particularly care for practicing such things as his writing skills but with activities like the one above, it doesn’t seem like work at all! Just having this brought to my attention makes it easier for me to encourage him to practice these type of skills at home by making it fun for him. Here’s another example:
