1. How to cook my grandmother’s noodles. My grandmother always cooked for every holiday. She made the absolutely best homemade chicken and noodles. She never even measured out her ingredients and would just guess. She passed away 3 years ago, so my family had to come together and try to figure out her “recipes.” We have been able to turn her masterpiece into a “recipe.” So, now, I make them for my family and I hope they will continue to make them for theirs.
2. Watch all of the Thanksgiving Day Parades. I grew up watching the parades while lunch was being prepared and since my children are so young this will be the first year that my daughter will love to watch all of the balloons and floats. I can’t wait for her to enjoy the day!
3. Put the Christmas decorations up Thanksgiving night or the next day (depending on how tired we get). I love to look forward to the next holiday and this is a great way to learn to close Thanksgiving and get ready for Christmas.
So, what are some of the Thanksgiving traditions you have passed on or want to pass on to your children?
