I just added another iPad book to my kid’s library — The Lion And the Mouse by Kid-Mind Studios. Once again I am amazed by today’s technology and grateful that my children get to experience such fun and interactive storybook apps. This particular story has three reading options: Read to Me, Read by Myself and Bedtime Story. In Bedtime Story mode the story is read aloud with only a night scene displayed on the screen. Both of the other versions feature interactive scenes where children can make choices, discover new things and play with the characters. There’s a scene where the reader choses one of the character’s outfits and another where they have the option for selecting the tool a character will use. These are just two examples of the many interactive features of this app. I love how engaging the story is because it really gets my kids involved and interested in reading the story. The illustrations/animations are vivid and colorful and the characters fun and interesting. Needless to say, my kids really enjoy this app.
