What do you get the baby of the family when she turns five? A new car of course! And not just any old car — a Famosa Two Seater Range Rover 12V! She also got her ears pierced. I’d say she’s one lucky girl but our family is also very blessed to have this silly, loving, bright, and joyful little girl in our lives.
I won’t even complain about staying up late and putting together the Range Rover — it was worth and and so was the look on her face when she saw her new car!
Let me just start by saying you can purchase this toy at Toys R Us and if you pay an additional $25, they’ll put it together for you. You might want to consider that option! Honestly, putting it together wasn’t really hard but it was a bit time consuming. If I had to put together a second car, I would be able to do it a LOT quicker but the first time, it took me several hours.
The assembly instructions are in pictures because Famosa is a Spanish company and the Range Rover is sold all over the world. Due to American consumers feedback, instructions with text to go along with the pictures will be coming soon. For the most part though, the picture instructions are pretty easy to follow.
There are a lot of fun details on the Range Rover. The doors open and close, there is a start button that makes an engine noise, a horn and you can even hook an MP3 player up to it! It’s a two seater for fun with friends and can hold up to 132 lbs!
The birthday girl was very happy with her new car. Our driveway is a bit of a hill and the Range Rover has enough power to make it to the top as long as she keeps her foot on the gas. After that, it’s smooth sailing all the way to the mailbox which is her daily driving route. The path to the mailbox is slightly up hill but when she turns around to go back home, the car goes pretty fast, even with just a slight downhill slope. Wearing a helmet probably isn’t a bad idea!
The two door Range Rover Sport 12V retails for $399 and is designed for ages 3+. The car can drive up to 4.5 miles per hour and features both forward and reverse with a realistic gear shift! It’s available in white, grey or black. It works best on flat surfaces but also does pretty well on small inclines. Overall, I’m really pleased with the quality of this product and of course the entertainment value — it doesn’t get much better than this! There is only one small thing I would change — I think it would be really cool with rubber tires and also offer a little bit more traction.
