This spring my husband and I will be celebrating our 9th anniversary. I can’t believe it’s been 9 years already and that the 10 year milestone is just over a year away! At the time my wedding ring was purchased the jeweler told us about their upgrade program where you can trade up your diamond for a bigger one. That got me thinking. Was the diamond we were buying pre-owned? What it if has bad ju-ju?, I asked only half joking. I didn’t really want to think about the story behind my diamond if it was indeed pre-owned. Perhaps it was part of the trade up program. On the other hand, maybe it was traded in for a necklace because of a divorce. I told my soon-to-be hubby that I’d never want to trade in/up my diamond. Diamonds, like marriage, should be forever. If I ever upgrade to a bigger diamond, my original will have to be made into a necklace or something because I am not giving it up.
My ring is pretty simple but I love it. I have a princess cut center stone with several tiny diamonds on each side. My wedding band has 10 tiny diamonds and it’s soldered to the engagement ring. I’m pretty attached to it. But I really, really love the band on this “Floret” ring (above) from applesofgold.com. The details are beautiful!
There are so many different styles I didn’t consider when it came to my wedding ring. Rose gold wedding bands for example. I don’t remember seeing anything like this before I got married. It’s so pretty and unique!

Are you sentimental about your wedding rings or would you have no problem with trading your diamond in for an upgrade?
