I’ve started giving myself 10 minute challenges. I set my timer for 10 minutes and tackle a household chore while my children are having a snack or lunch. It’s amazing how much you can accomplish in only 10 minutes when you focus on the task. The 10 minute challenge is a new feature here on Mommies with Cents. Each week, I will show you one of the things I was able to accomplish in 10 minutes. I encourage you to join me- it really easy amazing what you are able to achieve, even if it’s incremental, if you set your mind (and timer!) to it!
This week’s problem area is the top of my dryer in the laundry room. This is another collecting area for “things”. Most of the time I leave the house through the laundry room and into the garage. I also come into the house through this area so I tend to set things down here. Look at this mess:
After my 10 minute timer went off, I was left with this:As much as I’d love to say that it still looks like this and that I can easily get to my lint filter, I have to admit that this area is now WORSE than the original picture and needs another session on the clock. It’s been a few weeks. On a more positive note, my dining table from last week’s post is clear!
I’d love to hear ways you manage your time at home with kids. I know I have a lot to learn and it will only get more challenging when my third arrives! Please share your tips with me and our other readers by leaving a comment, then come back next week for another 10 minute challenge!
Be sure to check out all of our other 10 minute challenge posts!
Clean the lint trap before you have a fire! lol 😉 It saves money doing it too. 😀
