I’ve started giving myself 10 minute challenges. I set my timer for 10 minutes and tackle a household chore while my children are having a snack or lunch. It’s amazing how much you can accomplish in only 10 minutes when you focus on the task. The 10 minute challenge is a new feature here on Mommies with Cents. Each week, I will show you one of the things I was able to accomplish in 10 minutes. I encourage you to join me- it really easy amazing what you are able to achieve, even if it’s incremental, if you set your mind (and timer!) to it!
This week my challenge was the top of my dresser. Piles of clothing and other stuff always ends up there and looks awful. It’s sort of like my dining table– it’s where I set things that need to be put away and then never get around to it. Yes, stuff is actually hanging out of my husband’s drawers!
After my 10 minute timer went off, I was left with this and I admit, a small stack of clothing on the bed that still needed to be put away which took a couple of extra minutes:
Task accomplished! Small tasks like this make a big visual improvement and just make me feel like I’ve done a lot more work than I have. Now if I could just keep the dresser clean!
I’d love to hear ways you manage your time at home with kids. I know I have a lot to learn and it will only get more challenging when my third arrives! Please share your tips with me and our other readers by leaving a comment, then come back next week for another 10 minute challenge!
