I’m not a runner. I’m not even a jogger for that matter. I was 29 years old before I ever ran an entire mile without stopping. It was a goal of mine. I did it once, checked it off my list and gave up on the treadmill altogether. But walking I can handle. In fact, I even sort of enjoy it. There’s a paved trail near my house that stretches 23 miles between several cities. It has picnic areas and benches along it and is surrounded by trees & nature which makes for a really pleasant walk. I’ve got three small children. One of them can ride their bike but the other two are happiest in a stroller. Our double stroller is difficult to maneuver and takes away from the enjoyment. I’ve got my eye on a Schwinn Turismo Swivel Double Jogger (pictured above). My girls would love sitting next to each other and since the stroller is designed for trails, it’s perfect for our walks. It even has speakers for an MP3 player!
These days there are lots of options for jogging strollers. You can get them in single, double or even triple. They come in lots of colors and styles to suit your specific needs. Even if you aren’t a runner like me, jogging strollers are much easier to navigate and great for all types of outings. The only drawback that I can see to jogging strollers is that the doubles and triples are all side-by-side seating making them much wider than a stroller with a back seat. For outdoor use, this usually isn’t a problem but when using it at a shopping mall for example, it makes things a little more difficult. The width makes it hard to fit through doorways and around clothing racks. I’ve found that umbrella strollers work best for shopping trips. Do you have a jogging stroller? How do you like it compared to a traditional stroller?
