It’s not always about the kids. Mom and Dad need to have some fun too. We have a group of friends that get together every month or so for an adult game night. No Candyland or Chutes and Ladders allowed! A couple of weeks ago we had the opportunity to try Over Under, a new game based on a popular way to make bets on sporting events. You only need two players to play but the more the merrier!
I love party games that don’t require you to think too hard. I just want to relax and have fun when I finally get a break. Over Under definitely fit the bill. It was easy to play and many of the facts were comical and we all got a good laugh. Here’s an example: 15% off all people have been skinny dipping. If you think that number is low you’d bet over. And you’d be correct! 28% of people have stripped down for a quick swim. Some of these game cards can strike up some interesting conversation! Make sure the kids are in bed or better yet, over at grandma’s for the night!
To make things a little more interesting, instead of just guessing over or under, you get to place a wager on your bet based on your confidence in the answer. A bet of 1 means you have no idea where as a bet of 5 means you are 100% sure. Your wager is the number of spaces you’ll move. If you right, you’ll move forward, if you are wrong you’ll move backwards the number of spaces you wagered. The goal of the game is to land on the finish line spot. To get there quickly you can bet aggressively but there is also strategy involved because there are shortcut routes to get you to the finish line faster. You must land exactly on the shortcut route to take it, so place your bets accordingly.
Over Under is available at Target and Barnes & Noble stores and online at amazon.com . Want to try out a few test questions yourself? You’ll find them online at www.over-undergame.com. Check it out then submit your own Over Under question. If it’s selected, it will be included in the next game and you’ll receive a free one!
