We just got an email with a free offer that sounds pretty cool. If you plan on taking your kids to see Despicable Me which is coming to theaters July 9th, you’ll want to check this out:
When you take your kids to see Despicable Me in theaters starting July 9, Best Buy wants you to keep your cell phone on!
In partnership with Universal Pictures, Best Buy has launched the first ever “movie-enhancing” cell phone application. Available as a free download on www.bestbuymoviemode.com, Best Buy Movie Mode will respond to audio queues in Despicable Me and translate the language of the Minion characters in the closing credits. Share the translations with your kids who will be dying to know what the minions are up to by the end of the movie.
The application will also automatically disable the ringer, dim the screen and discourage texting during the film so as not to bother other movie patrons. There is also a video on bestbuymoviemode.com that you can use on your blog to explain how the new app works.
