During these crazy times I keep reminding myself that we are SAFE at home, not STUCK at home. We have each other and so much to be thankful for. We have a yard our kids can play in and a house to shelter us, even from things we cannot see. At times it’s still hard — we get a little stir crazy and cranky from being in each other’s space 24/7. Getting outside is our sanity saver when being cooped up starts to get to us.
We are getting creative when it comes to outdoor time by making up our own games, dressing silly when we go on neighborhood walks just for the fun of it, and trying new things. Another thing we’ve doing that we’ve never let our kids do before is play outside in the dark. We live on a dead end street and our kids are getting a little older so we’ve finally given in to their request to play “glow games”. They like to play flashlight tag and they have some other glow in the dark toys they think are really fun. One of the coolest things we’ve found are Activ Lites.
