I have a “secret” I want to share with you. I learned it from my Father-in-Law. I really love White Chocolate Peppermint Mochas from Starbucks but at $5+ a pop they are a budget buster! Do you drink coffee from Starbucks or a coffee stand on a regular basis? You can save a lot of money without having to give up your coffee habit. My Father-in-Law gets what he calls “poor man’s lattes” from 7-Eleven. A size small is only $1. You can get a pre-flavored coffee from the machine or pour your own regular or decaf. They have a great selection of flavored creamers and syrups so you can fix it up just the way you like it. My favorites are the Almond Joy creamer and the Hershey’s Chocolate Caramel creamer with mini marshmallows on top. I honestly like this coffee just as much as Starbucks. The only problem for me is that since there’s no drive thru I have to take my 3 kids inside with me. The good news is, with the 7-Eleven app I often get freebies with my coffee and my kids love stopping in. They don’t always get something but when they do, it’s a treat. We’ve gotten free cinnamon rolls, breath mints, cookies, breakfast bars and more! The app is available for iPhone, just search for 7-Eleven in the app store. It’s free of course and might be available for other devices as well.
Around here 7-Elevens are almost as common as Starbucks stores. There are two in my small town so they’re easily accessible. If you are a regular coffee drinker, I encourage you to give the “poor man’s latte” a try and see how much money you can save. You won’t even have to tip!
Have you tried 7-Eleven’s coffee bar? What did you think of it?
