The story of Anne of Green Gables has been around for a long time. There are books, movies and a series of TV shows. The main character, a young red-headed girl named Anne Shirley is what some would describe as “spirited”. She has a mind of her home, loves to daydream and isn’t afraid to challenge others or stand up for what she believes in. She reminds me a lot of my oldest daughter who also has red hair. There’s a lot that can be learned from Anne, and I love that my daughter loves Anne of Green Gables as much as I do.
CBS recently released the third installment of their Anne of Green Gables Series, Anne of Green Gables- Fire and Dew. In Anne’s biggest adventure yet, challenges await when tragedy strikes at teacher’s college. Here’s a little more about the DVD:
“Anne Shirley moves to Charlottetown and is overwhelmed by her new surroundings, difficult classes at teacher’s college and a deepening romance with Gilbert. At the same time, Matthew and Marilla deal with health and financial difficulties that jeopardize their lives at Green Gables. After Anne graduates, she must make an important decision, whether to move back home or continue on to University. Anne then must handle the loss of someone deeply special in her life and just when all seems lost, she discovers the dark cloud over her life has a silver lining.”
The DVD stars critically acclaimed actor Martin Sheen as Matthew Cuthbert, along with the return of Ella Ballentine as Anne Shirley and Canadian actress Sara Botsford as Marilla Cuthbert.

I loved the books of course! But I have not seen this. I would love to watch it with my daughter.
