I thought it quite serendipitous to be asked to review Archives.com on April 21st, for it was my Grandma’s birthday (whom I endearingly call my Crazy Grandma). I couldn’t think of a more fitting gift to give my Crazy Grandma, than a membership to a genealogy site! She is extremely passionate about genealogy, always has, always will be. Growing up she shared this love of hers with me and part of our relationship with each other has been formed by learning about our past, family, and history. I am ecstatic to be able to use Archives.com to continue the bond we have with each other and hunt down new stories and seek out more past adventures of our ancestors; she is my Sensei and I am her Grasshopper.
Discover your roots and understand more about where they come from by subscribing to Archives.com. To dig even deeper and learn more about your family history, a full membership to the site is just $39.95 for an entire year (up to 80% cheaper than other sites), and users can try if for free for seven days with no obligation as well.
NewspaperARCHIVE.com has over 95 million newspaper pages dating back to the 1750’s; and each one is fully searchable by name, keyword, date and location – making it easy for you to find the stories and photographs you’re looking for.
Footnote.com is a subscription website that features over 64 million searchable original documents, providing users with an unaltered view of the events, places and people that shaped the American nation and the world. At Footnote.com, all are invited to come share, discuss, and collaborate on their discoveries with friends, family, and colleagues.
One lucky reader will receive a one year membership to Archives.com, a one year membership to Footnote.com, and a one year membership to NewspaperARCHIVE.com, a value of more than $200! Archives.com, Footnote.com, and NewspaperARCHIVE.com is a historian’s dream come true!

Archives.com is a total rip-off! Very unethical business practices. Isigned up for a FREE TRIAL, found absolutely nothing that I was looking for – becasue to actually see any information you have to “upgrade” cancelled not 5 or 10 minutes later and they still charged me $39.95. Now, of course they don’t respond to my several emails. Don’t waste your maoney!

Hi Debra
While I experienced a very exceptional service with Archives.com, I am so bummed out that your experience with them was not a pleasant one.
