“Meet Bailey, a dog who surprises and charms his fellow human classmates with his irrepressible antics. In this funny new book from the bestselling children’s illustrator Harry Bliss, school proves to be an unexpected place for Bailey to do all sorts of things he loves: reading, fetching, painting, digging, singing — and making friends!”
Kids are heading back to school for the fall, some for the first time. Children who may be a little anxious for the big day might benefit from a story book on the subject. In a funny new book titled Bailey by Harry Bliss, a dog joins the kids at school doing all of the things he loves including reading, fetching, painting (with his tail!), digging, signing and perhaps most importantly, making friends. The story starts off with Bailey deciding what to wear in the morning (red collar or blue?) and takes him through an entire school day. This children’s book is playful and fun and the ink and watercolor illustrations add visual liveliness to an already expressive book. Bailey charmingly demonstrates that school is an adventure you won’t want to miss.
My children especially loved this book because they have a friend who has a spotted dog named Bailey. We liked the fun illustrations and the cute story too. A dog with human characteristic (but that doesn’t talk) was humorous to the kids. The fact that a dog rode the bus to school made them giggle. Bailey retails for $16.99 in hardback.
