Being a mother comes with many blessings. It also comes with sacrifice. Self care often falls by the way side as your time is consumed caring for your babies and children. It’s important to remember to carve out some “me time” to recharge whenever or however you can fit it in so that you can be the best mommy possible, and let’s be honest, to avoid mommy break-downs.
I have three kids, ages 6, 8 and 10. All three play sports year round. To say we are a busy family is an understatement. I work from home and am able to take care of our home, yard, and work as well as the hubby and kids but it does leave very little time for myself. I’ve found that exercising goes a long way in boosting my mood and giving me the energy I need to take care of business. I aim to walk my kids to the bus stop every morning and go on a short walk as soon as I get them off to school. This way I am home before 9 am and my day is off to a great start! Sometimes I listen to music on my walk. Sometimes I just listen to the birds chirp and have some quiet time with my thoughts. It always leaves me feeling refreshed!
It’s not always that easy though. Sometimes the weather gets in the way or sometimes the morning just doesn’t go as planned. That’s when I need to get creative. There are days when I don’t get my walk in until just before bedtime. Sometimes it means bringing my kids along — and that’s okay!
Sometimes there are days when “me time” just doesn’t fit in and that’s okay too. Sometimes other things are more important. When my kids are sick, all I want is for them to feel better. Pfizer Pediatrics helps me relieve some of their symptoms to get the rest they need to mend.
My kiddos are very active and don’t like being down. Luckily they’ve got pretty good immune systems and are able to battle off bugs pretty quickly so they can get back to doing what they love. I always keep Pfizer Pediatrics products on hand both at home and when we travel. During baseball season we are out of town a lot for tournaments and I never leave home without the meds. They’ve come in handy countless times! Here’s what I keep in my medicine bag:
