Yard games used to be just for summer and camping but now that we live in Arizona with nice weather year round and a beautiful yard, we can spend more time outside together as a family. We just added a new yard game to our collection — Bean Bag Buckets from Creative Brainworks.
I had my kids assemble the game on Mother’s Day so we could play it together. They didn’t read the directions so it took them a few minutes to figure it out and had to go back and fix some things but assembly is pretty simple.
I love that the game breaks down easily and comes with a bag for safe storage. This also makes it quite portable so we can take it to the park or a neighbor’s house to play.
The game combines corn hole, washer toss and disc golf into one easy bean bag game. It can be played by 2+ players who take turns to toss bean bags in different baskets with varying score amounts. The first person to reach 21 wins. There are many different versions to play that allow for up to 16 players.
On Mother’s Day we split into teams of two. We each had 4 bean bags per round and took turns tossing them. I love that this game is so flexible — you can decide how you want to play it! Pick a distance to throw from and the number of points to play to. It was already quite hot out and the game was a little more difficult than we expected. We went several rounds with no baskets scored. We decided to only play until 15 points were scored. It was a close match! With the different points per bucket, each team was always in the running to win which made it exciting!
Bean Bag Buckets would make a great Father’s Day gift! Dad can play with the family or take it on his next tailgating adventure. It’s fun for all ages and simple to learn! You can find out more at www.beanbagbucketz.com/the-game.html or find it on Amazon for $59.96.
