I feel like I say this about just about every Disney movie but Beauty and the Beast is one of my absolute favorites! The 25th Anniversary Edition of the original animated classic was recently released. The movie, as well as it’s message is timeless — do not judge a book by it’s cover! All of the characters from Belle the bookworm to Mrs. Potts & Chip the tea kettle and her child are just as magical and enchanting as you remember them. Lumiere the candlabra is my personal favorite and Gaston is always good for a laugh with his self centered and showy personality.
There’s a reason “Beauty and the Beast” was nominated for six Academy Awards! This movie was the first animated feature to receive an Academy Award nomination for best picture and it won two Oscars, including best song, by the renowned Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, and best original score (Menken), as well as a Golden Globe Award for best comedy/musical. It’s a must have for your movie collection!
I love that this release comes with a sing along version. The songs will bring back memories! I love sharing these classic animations with my own kids so they can have some of the same memories of childhood that I had.
