We’ve had some readers express interest in learning about blogging so we’ve decided to make it a weekly series on Mommies with Cents! If you are interested in learning how to start your own blog or to cultivate and grow the one you have, we welcome you to join us!
Today’s question is: What is the etiquette on sharing deals posted by other bloggers?
The truth is, bloggers like us LOVE it when other bloggers share deals we’ve found! There are two rules to follow when sharing deals posted by other bloggers.
1) Give credit where credit is due. This is as simple as siting your source with a link back to their site. Deal bloggers commonly do it like this: (Thanks,
Mommies with Cents!)
2) Don’t cut and paste the post. Write it in your own words or change it up a little. The reason has to do with Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
We get deals from other bloggers emailed to us all of the time. It’s win/win for both of us because we don’t have to spend a lot of time searching for all of the deals and the person who found the deal gets full credit. The links help them build their site ranking and bring them more traffic.
When Mindy and I started out we had no idea what we were doing. We learned as we went and even though it’s been a few years, there is still so much to learn! We are learning new things all of the time and it’s so much fun! We’ve had help along the way and we want to pay it forward. Great tips! I hadn’t even thought about sharing with other bloggers when I find a deal. I just assumed everyone got the same information at some point…great idea though! I loved your other post on monetizing your blog too. So many helpful tips!
