The Bobsweep Robotic Vacuum Cleaner cleans your house so you don’t have to!
I feel like I’m always behind on something. If I work in the yard, my housework falls behind. If I spend my time cleaning the house, the yard needs work. I could really use some help! The Bobsweep Robotic Vacuum Cleaner is great for maintaing your home’s floors. It does all the work so you can spend your time on other things. Now you can permanently mark vacuuming off your to-do list. This robotic vacuum cleaners sweeps, vacuums, mops and UV sterilizes the floors of your home including carpet, tile, hardwoods and more. It methodically navigates itself throughout your house picking up dirt and debris. In fact, it traps dust mites, pollen and other allergens with it’s 3 layer HEPA filtration system, keeping your air clean in the process! The filter works on fine particles up to 99.97%.
You can program Bob for regular cleanings. Just sent the memory timer for the day and time you’d like Bob to tackle your cleaning chores and he’ll get the job done. I recommend setting Bob to work while you’re away from home or even at night while you’re in bed if the noise won’t bother you. He’s not especially loud for vacuum but he’s not whisper quiet either. When Bob’s mission is complete or when his power level falls below 15% he’ll automatically return to his charging station. You can set Bob for small, medium or large cleaning task. In large space mode, Bob will clean until he needs to return to base for more power. In medium mode, Bob cleans for 30 minutes and in small mode Bob cleans for 15 minutes before returning to the dock.
If the Bobsweep detects a dirty area, he’ll concentrate more cleaning time to the area to make sure it gets clean.
The Bobsweep has an extra large collection bin so it’ll only need emptying after a few cleaning tasks. This is pretty much the only regular maintenance he needs! There is a pre-filter and a HEPA filter that will need replacing every 4-6 months plus another small filter that will need to be washed from time to time. The main cleaning brush can be removed for easy cleaning which is really nice since there are 3 long-haired girls in our family!
I couldn’t wait to put Bob to work. I was curious to see how he worked. He’s very methodical and careful not to bump into anything. He senses edges like stairs and avoids them. It’s pretty impressive to watch. Bob takes longer to complete a task than if you did it yourself so if you’ve got last minute company stopping by, it’s best to give Bob the day off. If you’ve programmed him though, your floors will probably already be clean! I was surprised how well the Bobsweep cleaned my kitchen, dining room and hallway hardwood floors. He only got stuck once.
I tried him in the living room and it didn’t go as well. We have a stone fireplace that has a bit of a lip on in that Bob didn’t like for some reason. While our house is technically only two story, we have several small steps in our house. The living room is down one step from the hall and kitchen. The sitting room is two steps down from that. There is also one step up in our hallway. Then there are the stairs leading up to the rest of the house. This is not ideal for Bobsweep. He navigates very well around steps but I have to move him around to different areas I’d like cleaned. Not a huge deal but he’s better suited to homes with larger areas without steps.
The Bobsweep might also be better suited to families with older kids who don’t leave tons of little toys lying around or large chunks of their snacks. My kids are super messy! You’ll have to pick all that stuff up before you put Bob to work. Still, I like to use him when the house is quiet. He does a good job not only in the larger spaces but around the perimeter where crumbs seem to gather.
The mop feature is more of a dust mop. It’s just a small cloth attached to the underbelly that you can get damp and it will wipe the floors down as it goes. It works well enough for minor cleaning but will not replace regular mopping. Overall, the Bobsweep does a good job at regular upkeep of the floors and I love the ease of use. Just set it and go. Bobsweep even comes with a remote control which is handy (and fun!) You can find out more about Bobsweep at www.bobsweep.com.
As a side note, one thing I found really interested is that Bobsweep employees are paid in ADVANCE! How nice would that be? You can find out more about this this practice here.
Disclosure: I was provided with a Bobsweep for my review however all opinions are my own. I was not compensated in any other way.
