My 8 year old son absolutely loves Legos. Lately he’s been really into watching Lego tutorials on YouTube Kids lately and recreating the projects himself. He builds some really cool and creative things! Since he loves everything Lego I knew he’d really like Brick History, a new book with amazing photos and dozens of buildable projects. I put it in his Easter Basket and he later told me it was his favorite thing that he got.
Brick History by master modeler Warren Elsmore features 50 of the most historic moments in time in a mixture of detailed dioramas and buildable projects including:
- Prehistory and the Birth of Civilization—The Big Bang, the very first Olympic Games, and the Norman conquest of England
- Renaissance and the Age of Empire—the invention of the Gutenberg Printing Press, the defeat of the Spanish Armada, and the Mayflower’s journey to America
- 19th Century—the California Gold Rush, the abolition of slavery following the Civil War, and Alexander Graham Bell’s invention of the telephone
- 20th Century and Beyond—the Wright brothers’ first flight, the sinking of the Titanic, Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech, and the royal wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton
The book features more than 400 full-color images and two pull out 171/2″ x 24″ posters making it a very visual and fun read. Take a peek inside the book here.
Warren Elsmore is a world-renowned LEGO modeler and the best-selling author of Brick City, Brick Wonders, Brick Flicks, and Brick Vehicles all available in North America from Barron’s.
